Definition

Acceleration – The rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity, however an object with a constant velocity is not accelerating.

The relationship between force, mass and acceleration is expressed in the equation “Force= Mass x Acceleration” (F=ma). Force (Newton, N) = mass (kilogram, kg) x acceleration (meters per second squared, m/s²).
